About Amber Prochnik
I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist specializing in a holistic mind and body approach to healing. Difficult life experiences ranging from break-ups and career disappointments, to trauma and abuse, trap and lead many of us to a mindset of self-limiting beliefs. I have kindness and empathy for those who struggle with anxiety and depression, but I also believe the past does not define one’s future. I am passionately committed to my clients as they rediscover their authentic selves and reach their full potential for joy, accomplishment and connected, fulfilling relationships.
I graduated Antioch University with a Master’s degree in clinical psychology. Before entering into private practice, I provided therapy to adolescents in a high school setting and treated adults afflicted with trauma in a residential treatment center, leading weekly mindful resourcing and meditation groups. In addition, I’ve completed 2 years of extensive training at Counseling West, a depth psychology based counseling center in Sherman Oaks, working with adults and adolescents struggling with trauma, anxiety and depression.
My post-graduate studies have included somatic based trainings such as the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), meditation, yoga and mindfulness-based psychotherapy.
I look forward to meeting you and, with your permission, providing guidance and support on a deep journey of awareness, healing and empowerment.
